17 new US citizens sworn in

SEVENTEEN new U.S. citizens were sworn in at a naturalization ceremony at the District Court for the NMI in Gualo Rai on Monday morning.

Patricia Phelan, U.S. Citizenship and Immigrations Services officer, moved the district court to accept the applicants as new citizens.

Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona granted the motion and welcomed the new citizens to the American family.

They are Gilda A. Abalos, Delia A. Acera, Angela V. Aldan, Pipit S. Ball, Charlie A. Borja, Ryan John M.L. Cabrera, Kristine A.D. Galang, Shanjib K. Halder, Ruel Q. Ibarra, Nolie R. Labadan, Grace P. Moran, Renea A. Raho, Norman A. Redor, Jeremiah R. Rother, Shyaralyn L. San Nicolas, Nenita C. Ta, and Ruel G. C. Vinluan.

Ruth Coleman, an administrative specialist and coordinator of the U.S. Department of Veteran Health Administration, was the guest speaker.
