2 new lawyers sworn-in

Associate Justice Kathleen Salii administered the oath of office in the presence of her parents and co-workers.

Singeo graduate from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2009. She was a dean lister of the school.

She also holds a degree in Bachelor of Arts Political Science and Communication from the University of Hawaii, Hilo.

Singeo prior to joining the OAG was a summer intern from May 2008 to August 2008 at the Office of the Independent Counsel.

Meanwhile, Helen Lanctot, the new Assistant Legal Counsel for the Senate was also sworn in that day.

Lanctot, who has a dual law degree from McGill University, has substantial international experience. Before attending law school, she served as an international development volunteer in Lesotho, Africa. She then served as a Parliamentary Monitor in Cape Town, South Africa, after receiving her law degree.

She also worked as a practicing attorney in Canada, working with clients on both civil and criminal matters and advocating before Canada’s highest Court.

Before coming to Palau, she was a project manager for Kensington Tours in Tanzania.
