200 guests attended the PICRC Gala Dinner Fundraiser

Some of the guests who attended the party at the PICRC port area are partners of PICRC, ranging from the private sectors, local businesses, foreign diplomats, government officials and employees.

Fabian B. Iyar, PICRC chief executive officer, said the celebration was successful. They received cash and in- kind donations from the sponsors.

Shell Palau Inc. which has been a partner of PICRC since 2001 donated $13,500. These include $12,000 worth of fuel and $1,500 worth of calendars.

“They have been doing this for years in support of our programs.” Iyar said in an interview.

Aside from Shell, the PICRC also received donations from the different sectors.

Meanwhile, President Johnson Toribiong also expressed gratitude to all the sponsors of the PICRC.

“This institution has survived over the nine years from support by the national congress, government, donations from abroad and the local contributions to ensure that this institution remains a viable one as a symbol of our commitments to protect and preserve our environment.” Toribiong said.

The proceeds raised during the event will go to the endowment fund of the PICRC.

The week-long PICRC 9th anniversary celebration started with various activities such as the PICRC Softball Tournament, Free School Tours, Free Tour for Public, Climate Change Awareness Run and Walk and lastly the Gala Dinner Fundraiser.
