The hotel will open after a seven-month delay with initial plans to have a soft opening last year in August.
SSS Manhao Hotel Manager Rohit Kant said a 30-member contingent will arrive from China for the official opening.
Kant said stage one of the $20 million development will be completed by the end of the month.
He said the first stage will have 45 rooms, a conference center, restaurants with two specialist Chinese chefs, pool bar, spa and a boutique shop.
“The owners of the hotel and we are inviting someone from the government to come for the official opening,” Kant said.
“The project has taken close to two years to complete and we will start on the second stage in May.
“This will be an extra 51 rooms, including a presidential suite and three junior suites plus two executive villas.”
The development will also see the improvement of infrastructure and employment opportunities for the community in Nasau, Nadi.
Kant said they have encouraged farmers to sell their produce to the hotel to enhance the use of local fruits and vegetables.
“Through this project we will be able to support the community as well, through buying their produce, improving roads and giving them employment,” he said.
Kant said they are targeting other tourist markets and will not focus on Chinese tourists.
“We are going for four-star status for the hotel with all the services and facilities that we have. The hotel will be open for everyone. We will try and promote it in every market. It’s not that we will only look after Chinese guests,” Kant said.
Suzhou Youth Travel Service Co. Ltd. owns the hotel.
