21st Covid-19 related death; 66 new cases

(CHCC) — The Governor’s Covid-19 Task Force and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation have confirmed the CNMI’s 21st Covid-19-related death since March 2020. 

Sixty-six additional individuals have also been confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 3,868 cases since March 28, 2020. The individuals have been isolated and are actively monitored.

Of the 66 cases identified on Jan. 13, 2022 (4 on Tinian):

24 were identified via contact tracing, 18 via community testing, and 24 via travel testing.

As of Jan. 14, 2022, there were 9 individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19:

4 unvaccinated, 5 vaccinated; 1 on a ventilator

A total of 262 Covid-19 vaccines were administered on Jan. 14, 2022, resulting in 97.6% of the CNMI’s eligible population being fully vaccinated.

The vaccination statuses of the 66 new cases identified are pending verification.

A total of 647 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Jan. 13, 2022:

542 community-based testing

68 at the Covid-19 Community Center (referrals only)

29 at the Rota Health Center

8 at the Tinian Health Center

Of the cases identified since Oct. 28, 2021, as of Jan. 13, 2022:

3,085 recoveries

475 active cases

Since Oct. 28, 2021, there have been 3,577 cases:

1,727 were identified via contact tracing

1,680 via community testing

170 via travel testing
