COMMONWEALTH Healthcare Corp. Chief Executive Officer Esther L. Muna on Friday, Jan. 14, announced that there are eight cases on Tinian and six on Rota that are positive for Covid-19.
Muna said all positive cases have been isolated and are actively monitored. 53 close contacts were identified on Tinian and 40 on Rota, all of whom tested negative for Covid-19.
Stephanie Kern-Allely, Pacific Islands Health Officers Association regional communicable disease epidemiologist, said some of the positive cases reported travel history to jurisdictions with high rates of positive Covid-19 cases, such as Guam and the U.S. mainland.
Valentino Hotel on Rota and Fleming Hotel on Tinian have been designated as quarantine sites.
