The amount received by Beckingham is 3,217 pounds which will be turned over to the St. Mary’s Church where his tomb lies.
Prince LeBoo sailed with Captain Henry Wilson on the HMS Antelope to London, England in 1783.In London, he served as an unofficial goodwill ambassador while pursuing his studies. Prince Leboo planned to return to Palau and share his new knowledge with his country men. LeBoo, however ontracted small pox in the winter of 1784 and passed away. He is buried in the courtyard of St. Mary’s church in London.The ceremony of the donation was held on Thursday night during a reception at the Taj Restaurant.
