(PSS) — On June 3, 2021, Chacha Oceanview Middle School promoted 73 eighth graders to high school. The theme of Chacha’s promotion ceremony was, “Resilience Through Adversities.”
Commissioner of Education Dr. Alfred B. Ada, Board of Education Chairman Andrew L. Orsini and the rest of the school system’s officials joined Chacha in honoring the promoted middle students.
Jayda Isis Lizama Norita is this year’s valedictorian and the recipient of the Board of Education Academic Achievement Award which was presented by BOE Chairman Orsini.
Charles Joseph Cahinusayan Baybay is the salutatorian and the Commissioner of Education Academic Achievement awardee. He received the award from the commissioner himself.
Eric Manglona Pangelinan II, for his part, received the Principal’s Award from Chacha principal Martha Kintol and vice principal Leah Murphy while the Chacha Oceanview Middle School Leadership Award went to Cianno Nennis.
Class valedictorian Norita took five of the seven subject awards: Mathematics, Leadership Corps, English Language Arts, Computer and Wood Shop.
Norita and class salutatorian Baybay shared the subject awards for Science and Social Studies.
Each of the 73 promoted students received a customized shirt from Tan Siu Lin Foundation and school supplies from Chacha.
Joining Commissioner of Education Ada and BOE Chairman Orsini in celebrating the students’ promotion were Public School System Senior Director for Accountability, Research and Evaluation Dr. Rizalina Liwag, Finance and Budget Director Arlene Lizama, Human Resources Officer Lucretia Borja-Deleon Guerrero, Head Start/Early Head Start Director Lathania Angui, Tanapag Middle School principal and middle school representative Hilda Rios and Associate Commissioner for Administration Eric Magofna.
