8th Olchotel Belau Fair draws crowd

Despite the sudden rain in the afternoon, it did not stop the people from coming in and out of the place to watch the entertainment.Highlights of the event were songs and island dances presented by various dance groups from different states in Palau.Koror State, Airai State, Ngardmau State and Palau Visitors Agency set up booths for the Fair.Palau Community College, Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Japan Embassy, Palau Senior Citizens, the Division of Corrections through the Prisoners gift shop, Bureau of Agriculture, Taiwan Technical Mission, Palau Wood Carvers Club and the Palau Baptist Church also participated in the Fair.The workers of the Tebang Wood Carving Shop displayed their skills in making woodcarvings and sculptures.Ruei- Fang Wang, a doctor from Taiwan’s Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital and Nurse Liu Pao-Ling conducted free medical check up for the public.Dr. Ruei-Fang is here in Palau to work as a volunteer at the Belau Hospital.She is an instructor for Basic Trauma Life Support and Advance Cardiovascular Life Support training.She just conducted training for doctors and nurses here in Palau for Advance Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Trauma Life Support training.
