9 hospitalizations; 174 additional Covid-19 cases

(Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.) — As of March 1, 2022, there were nine individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19:

One was unvaccinated, seven were vaccinated, and one was partially vaccinated.

 174 additional individuals had been confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 9,724 cases since March 26, 2020, CHCC reported Tuesday evening.

Of the 174 cases identified on Feb. 28, 2022:

14 were identified on Tinian, and 10 on Rota.

A total of 36 Covid-19 vaccine shots were administered on March 1, 2022. Of the eligible population, 56.9% have received an additional dose. The vaccination rate is calculated using the 2020 Census population estimates for the CNMI and includes the eligible 5-year-olds and older population.

The vaccination statuses of the 174 new cases identified are pending verification.

A total of 619 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Feb. 28, 2022:

442 via Community-Based Testing;

92 at Koblerville Covid-19 Community Center;

71 at Tinian Health Center; and

14 at Rota Health Center.

Of the total cases identified, as of Feb. 28, 2022, there were 8,967 recoveries and 727 active cases.

9,064 of the cases were identified via community testing and 660 through travel testing.

Since March 2020, there have been 30 Covid-19-related deaths in the CNMI.
