(Press Release) — This month, the Bayani or Heroes Association held fundraising events for Mother’s Day so the group could show its appreciation to mothers on their special day.
This was the first time that Bayani organized a Mother’s Day event which was held at Kristo Rai Church.
Hundreds of boxes of chocolates were given to mothers after the Masses.
According to Bayani Association secretary Marie Caamic Meister, “It was the idea of our president Annamae Adaza to have something for mothers on May 9, 2021.”
Adaza, for her part, thanked Bayani members “who always give their support when it comes to the activities, projects and fundraisers of the organization.”
She added, “At the church, before the blessing of mothers, Fr. Albert Pellazar instructed us to play a short video about the toughest job in the world — motherhood — and there were a lot of teary eyes.”
Bayani is grateful to the Tan Siu Lin Foundation for providing new polo shirts, and to the other Mother’s Day donors: Marissa Hardt, Socorro Huliganga, C&R Corporation, Bhiya Canadalla, and the president of the Northern Marianas Bartenders Association, Lito Espino.
The Bayani Association is a non-profit organization on Saipan and is one of the unit organizations under the umbrella of the United Filipino Organization.
