ROY Hernandez and Lea Mendiola won $100 each last week just by voting for their favorite places in the Best of the Marianas or BOM.
Initiated by Marianas Variety in partnership with the Marianas Visitors Authority, BOM aims to promote the various tourist spots and business establishments in the CNMI.
Mendiola expressed her gratitude to Marianas Variety and MVA for what she calls a New Year’s gift.
“This prize will help me in a lot of ways. Thank you so much for your generosity. I was surprised to win this raffle,” she said.
She is encouraging her family members and friends to support their favorite restaurants, bakeries, and places by voting for them.
She said she voted because she was encouraged to support the restaurants that provide excellent service.
Asked about her favorite restaurant, Mendiola said, “I love Shirley’s Coffee Shop. Their service is the best!”
Hernandez, for his part, said he couldn’t believe he won or that “winning a cash prize is for real.”
He said he voted to support Kiara’s Gift Shop and other businesses, including 360 Revolving Restaurant. “For me that’s the best place to eat,” he added.
He is encouraging community members to participate and vote for their favorite places.
“Winning is for real. Vote to support your favorites and win!” he said.
The voting period for the BOM will run through Feb. 15, 2023. Marianas Variety will choose five winners of a $100 cash prize every week through a live raffle draw streamed on Facebook every Thursday at 4 p.m.
