(BECQ) — The beach cleanup is a monthly volunteer activity of the Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality held on the first Saturday of every month, except in April for the Environmental Awareness Month Island Wide Cleanup and September for the International Coastal Cleanup.
Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the increasing rate of positive cases, the BECQ monthly beach cleanups for 2022 will be temporarily suspended until further notice.
“We apologize for the inconvenience,” BECQ stated. “An announcement will be made when beach cleanups will be resumed. Please continue to follow the Covid-19 protocols: always wear your masks, sanitize, and stay 6 feet away from one another and help prevent the spread of the virus.”
