The Office of the Vice President said that after the summer break elementary students from Harris and Meyuns with their big brothers and sisters from Palau High and Mindszenty High School will be back to the program.
The program is being conducted at the OOK Youth Center in Koror.Under the program, the students are picked up from school, taken to the center then dropped off at their homes after the program.The big brothers and sisters help the elementary school students with their homework and play board games or read with the high school students.Vice President Elias Camsek Chin said the goal of the program is to improve the students’ grade and socials.It also provides bonding between the older students and younger students.Chin said it is also an opportunity for students who want to be teachers someday too.The program also helps the students finish their homework by the time they go home.Chin is hoping that the program will expand to include more schools throughout Palau.
