Lt. Aloysius Alonz said that the suspect was arrested after a thorough investigation of the case.
The suspect was responsible for the burglary and robbery at the Jive Restaurant in Malakal last September 8 and at the Maml Divers shop also in Malakal last July.Alonz said that the suspect was first pinpointed as the suspect in the burglary of Jive.The suspect stole the owner’s bag containing cash, visa, bank cards, passport and checks.The suspect used the credit card to purchase several items in many stores including WCTC, ACE Hardware and Hanpa mart.Through investigation, the suspect’s identity was revealed and he was arrested last week.Alonz said during investigation, it was disclosed that the suspect was also responsible for the burglary and robbery incident at Maml which was reported to the police sometime in July.The suspect stole several diving equipments worth $8,000 and sold it to other individuals.Alonz said most of the items stolen were recovered.The case is now at the Attorney General’s Office and charges will be filed next week against the suspect.
