CCC chair: Which part of casino regulations is substandard?

COMMONWEALTH Casino Commission Chairman Edward C. Deleon Guerrero said House members should indicate which of the current casino regulations are “substandard.”

In a CCC meeting on Thursday, Deleon Guerrero reacted on the statement of Rep. Marissa Flores who stated that the commission has been implementing “substandard regulations.”

Deleon Guerrero said “we have no desire to be adversarial to our policy makers. We are a creation of statute. We are created by law. But there seems to be some misunderstanding on what our duties and responsibilities are.”

He said the commission is not enforcing “substandard” casino regulations.

“Perhaps the policymaker who made that reference has not seen our regulations,” Deleon Guerrero said, adding that he is willing to share a copy of the more than 800-page casino regulations with lawmakers.

Most of the local regulations follow the Nevada model in regulating the gaming industry, he added.
