Chief prosecutor will return to Texas

“I’M not resigning,” said Chief Prosecutor John Bradley of the Office of the Attorney General’s criminal division when asked regarding his planned departure.

Bradley, who has over 25 years of experience as a prosecutor, said his contract expires on July 21, 2021, and “I will complete it,” he added.

“However, as my father has developed dementia, and my mother needs help with him, my wife and I have decided to return to Texas and assist them. I am grateful to them for giving me wonderful support and look forward to returning the favor. I also have a granddaughter who has her first birthday in August and we would like to be there for her. So, I have another month to go,” Bradley said.

He said he has enjoyed working in the CNMI.

“I think we have done a great job of improving the prosecution of criminal cases over the last two years,” he said.

“I also have enjoyed Saipan, Rota and Tinian. The diving has been magnificent. The tennis with friends has been terrific. And my wife has loved the yoga and book club with friends.”

In July 2019, Bradley was sworn in as the chief prosecutor for the AG’s office.

Before working for the CNMI, he was the AG for the Republic of Palau and served under President Tommy Remengesau for two and a half years. Prior to that, he was a prosecutor and an elected district attorney in Texas.
