In 2006, a civil action suit was filed against Chin by Dilbuked Iseko Takamine, a strong member of the clan.
Takamine complained that Chin and his officers, employees, agent and other persons, unlawfully entered Ngerchedok , one of the historical site in Ngaraard and buried Josepha Waikasang in the land.
Takakime said Chin has no legal right to enter the land and bury Waikasang in the land.
Waikasang was also a strong leader of the clan.
The burial took place but with the conditions that Chin post $1,500 bond which would be forefeited to the plaintiff if she succeeds in his complaint.
The defendant will also be ordered to exhume the body and restore the burial site.
Chin with his legal counsel, J Uduch Senior that Takamine is withdrawing the suit.
In an order on motion for summary judgment, the court stated that the plaintiff has not carried its burden of proving its claim that he is a strong member of Ngerchedok and that he bears the title of Kerai.
“I am glad that this is over, this cloud has been hanging over my head since 1998.
Chin was formally installed as Kerai in July.
