Close to 10,000 people receive Covid-19 shots in NMI

THE CNMI has so far vaccinated close to 10,000 people,  Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. spokesman Lee Tenorio said.

 Since the Covid-19 vaccination began in Dec. 2020, 17,072 doses have been administered to 9,978 people.

Of the 9,978, he said 7,094 people have received the complete two doses of the vaccine.

Tenorio added that 2,884 more people are expected to receive their second dose to complete their vaccination series in the coming weeks.

Right now, he said CHCC is vaccinating individuals under the vaccination plans’ Phases 1A and 1B on the three main islands.

Phase 1A covers healthcare employees, high-risk first responders, homebound/bedbound patients, and manamko’ (65 years old and older). Phase 1B includes persons 55 years of age and older, and essential employees in the public and private sectors.

Every week, Tenorio said about 2,000 individuals are vaccinated for the first and second doses at CHCC’s Medical Care and Treatment Site, or at their homes in the case of homebound individuals.

On Rota, 523 individuals have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine while 170 have already completed their Covid-19 vaccination series.

On Tinian, 373 individuals have received dose 1 while 137 have completed their Covid-19 vaccination series.
