(CHCC) — The Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation’s Public Health Services organized a community stakeholder meeting at the World Resort Taga Hall on Sept. 10, 2024, as part of the CNMI Community Health Assessment or CHA to share data that was gathered and analyzed by a data workgroup that was formed to support the CHA.

A community health assessment is a standard collaborative process that is typically conducted every five years by health departments. The meeting provided an opportunity to gather input from community stakeholders regarding the data to inform the identification of key health issues that the CNMI should focus on.

The meeting was facilitated by the CHCC-PHS with support from Aleena Kawe and Theresa Carino of RedStar International. Over 70 community stakeholders from organizations across the CNMI engaged in the meeting, including non-profit organizations, government agencies, and community members.

The community health assessment project is supported by funds from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention through the Public Health Infrastructure Grant Program. The CNMI CHA Report will be finalized and made available by December 2024.
