CNMI ‘mathletes’

On May 18, 2024, six dedicated students from the CNMI competed in the National MathCourt Championship in St. Louis, Missouri, bringing pride to our community with their outstanding performances. Among the highlights, one team member, Joseph Victor Jimenez, achieved an impressive 9th place in the highly competitive 12th grade individual category. This remarkable accomplishment reflects the students’ hard work and the high level of mathematical education in the CNMI. The team’s participation and success at the national level underscore the talent and potential of the CNMI’s young scholars. The CNMI’s high school team consisted of William Lee (Saipan International School, 10th grade), Jiho Kong (Saipan International School, 10th grade), Pony Tang (Marianas High School, 12th grade), Xavier Lee (Saipan International School, 10th grade), Joseph Victor Jimenez (Marianas High School, 12th grade), Gwanpil Son  (Marianas High School, 11th grade).
