(Press Release) — In response to the recent impact and damage caused by Super Typhoon Sinlaku and as recovery efforts continue across the Commonwealth, the Northern Mariana Islands Retirement Fund will offer a three-month loan payment deferment for NMIRF borrowers and debtors on Rota, Tinian, and Saipan.
The deferment will cover the months of June, July, and August.
Details of the deferment are as follows:
• Loan deferment will be automatically granted to all eligible NMIRF borrowers and debtors. No request or application is necessary.
• Please note that for loans delinquent for more than 30 days, the payment deferment will not cure or eliminate any outstanding delinquent amounts owed.
• Borrowers enrolled in automatic deductions or AutoPay must take proactive steps to pause these payments to avoid being charged during the deferment period.
• Payroll deductions: Borrowers must contact their employer directly to temporarily suspend payroll deductions.
NMIRF appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation during this recovery period.
