(DPS) — The Department of Public Safety will conduct six separate checkpoints for occupant protection/child restraint on Sept. 19, 21 and 23, 2023.
These checkpoints aim to promote public safety and increase awareness of the dangers of not utilizing a vehicle occupant protection system and child restraint systems while driving on the island’s roadways. The locations of these checkpoints were pre-determined based on the number of auto accidents, occupant protection, and child restraint system violations in the areas.
Here are the specific dates and locations of the checkpoints:
Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023
• Chalan Monsignor Guerrero, Chalan Kiya, on the westbound outer lane by CUC Waterloo, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Beach Road, Garapan on the southbound lane by Fishing Base, from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023
• Chalan Monsignor Guerrero, Chalan Kiya, on the westbound outer lane by CUC Waterloo, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Beach Road, Garapan, on the southbound lane by Fishing Base, from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023
Chalan Monsignor Martinez, As-Lito, on the northbound lane by NAP Office, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Chalan Monsignor Guerrero, Chalan Kiya, on the westbound outer lane by CUC Waterloo, from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
Additionally, on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, the Department of Public Safety will conduct a car seat check at Garapan, Fishing Base from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
