(NMTech) — Before becoming the chief executive officer for the Northern Marianas Technical Institute, Jodina Attao was an ELA teacher at Kagman High School. She taught hundreds of students and inspired dozens who then went on to become successful in multiple professions. She didn’t know it at the time, but she would be inspiring a group of future leaders in the CNMI.
“As we celebrate Administrative Professionals Day, I want to highlight the incredible team I have the privilege of working with — their tireless efforts, unwavering commitment, and the vibrant energy they bring to everything we do,” she said.
“I get to work alongside a young, driven, and growth-minded group of professionals. Their attitude toward the work, their thoughtful approach to how it gets done, and the personality they bring into every room is truly the backbone of our success. They continuously choose collaboration over silos, take initiative even when a task isn’t theirs, and never hesitate to jump in and support one another — all while filling our halls with laughter, creativity, and an unmatched sense of camaraderie.
“Whether they’re gathered together brainstorming innovative solutions (with snacks, of course), or stepping up without being asked, this team exemplifies what it means to lead with heart, humor, and hustle. They keep me informed and on my toes, challenge the status quo, and represent NMTech with excellence and integrity — all of which I do not take for granted.
“What makes this journey even more special is the full-circle moment I experience daily — many of these exceptional individuals were once my students. Watching them grow into the professionals they are today fills me with pride and gratitude, as for those who weren’t my former students — well, we are still learning and growing together daily. We feed off of each other’s energy and that synergy every single person brings to the table is unmatched. Sure, we have our rough days, but we tackle it with a positive attitude and remind ourselves that we will get there! Continuous improvement is key.
“I’ve always been intentional about the people I surround myself with, and without a doubt, I’m blessed beyond measure to call this team mine. Each day I spend creating, innovating, and evolving alongside this group is a gift. Thank you, NMTech, for allowing me to live out my purpose with such extraordinary people by my side. I am sincerely and humbly grateful.” Attao added.
“Aaron Tomokane and Bertrina Palacios make up the marketing department that plays a crucial role at NMTech. They are both friendly, inspiring, and community-focused. They focused on showing that the school is committed to helping the island grow through technology and education. To increase awareness and enrollment for the tech school by highlighting its unique programs, local impact, and career opportunities in technology — especially for students in the CNMI.
“A big thank you to our amazing Procurement Team spear headed by Amy Babauta and Cassandra Castro for your dedication, efficiency, and behind-the-scenes hard work that keeps everything running smoothly.
“Our Student Services department is composed of Taylor Ada, Ronnie Camacho, and Leo are incredible for providing dedication and support to our students every day. Your ability to handle countless inquiries, offer guidance, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere is remarkable and makes a significant difference in our students’ lives. We are truly fortunate to have you as a shining star on our team.”
