IN recognition of the dedication and service of Joeten Group of Companies employees, the Joeten Daidai Foundation awarded an additional $12,000 in scholarships to six students — all children of Joeten Group employees — during a special check presentation and photo opportunity held on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, in the executive conference room of Joeten Susupe at the Joeten Shopping Center. With this second round of awards, the Foundation donated a total of $24,000 in scholarships this year.

Each student received $2,000 to support their college journey this fall. During the presentation, each recipient shared their name, high school, and the college or university they plan to attend. The six recipients are Elisha Chelsea Henzon of Marianas High School, Jay Francis Pineda of Mt. Carmel School, Alyssa Omampo of Grace Christian Academy, Soledad T. Sablan of Saipan International School, Eloysah Lyn Aguirre of Marianas High School, and Elizabeth Tom of Saipan International School.

“There are usually only one or two applicants from the children of our employees each year,” said Foundation Director Patty T. Palacios. “But this year, with a greater number of applicants from Joeten Group employees children, the board felt it was important to recognize each of them — not only for their academic achievements, but also to show appreciation to their parents, who have been loyal and hardworking members of the Joeten companies.”

Like the earlier group of scholarship awardees, each applicant was required to complete a comprehensive application, submit college acceptance letters, list academic honors and extracurricular activities, write a 300–500 word personal essay based on a designated quote, among other criteria.

The Joeten Daidai Foundation, the charitable arm of Joeten Enterprises, was established by the late Jose “Joeten” C. Tenorio and his wife, Soledad “Daidai” Tenorio, with a shared commitment to the values of family, service, and education. Joeten firmly believed in the power of meaningful education, and after his passing, Daidai continued on with his mission. Today, the Foundation remains dedicated to honoring their legacy by supporting future generations through scholarships and community giving.
