Conservation officer now a police officer

Peace Kemesong was sworn-in by Bureau of Public Safety Director Norvert H. Yano on Friday morning at the Vice President’s Office.The swearing-in ceremony was witnessed by Vice President and Minister of Justice Elias Camsek Chin and the chiefs of all the divisions under the Ministry of Justice.Kemesong will be assigned at the US Embassy in Airai and at the same time will also be under training for Patrol division.Kemesong’s wife Arlene, who is a Headstart teacher in Koror, was also present at the ceremony.The wife said she is happy because she and her husband will be together again after five years.The wife and their three children are staying in Koror while Kemesong was staying in Kayangel due to his job. He was a conservation officer for five years.The wife said she is proud of her husband and vows to support him in everything that he will do.Kemesong in an interview said he is happy to be finally working as a police officer.He joined the Police Academy in 2003 but applied as a conservation officer after his graduation.Vice President Chin reminded Kemesong that his new job will be a difficult one but also a rewarding one at the same time.He told Kemesong to act as a police officer even if he is off- duty.Chin also asked the wife to support her husband and to understand if he will have to miss important family time due to the demands of his job.
