Associate Justice Lourdes F. Materne issued the bench warrant for Petrus E. Sadang on September 17 following the release of Everson Sadang from his obligation as the defendant’s guarantor or custodian.
Everson Sadang appeared for a hearing on September 17 and requested the court that he would be released from his obligation as the defendant’s surety bond.The court granted his request and ordered the defendant to post another surety bond to be in compliance with his release conditions.Associate Justice Materne ordered that Sadang be taken into custody until such time he posts a surety bond in the amount of $1,000.Sadang was not present at the September 17 hearing. The court was informed that he had been on drinking binge since September 12.Sadang who was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for stabbing a man with a steak knife on November 10, 2008 was released from custody after his arraignment on September 10.The defendant posted $1,000 surety bond with Everson Sadang as his custodian.
