DUTY Free Shopping Saipan’s T-Galleria has joined the CNMI community’s fight against cancer by launching on Friday a charity campaign that will benefit the Commonwealth Cancer Association.
Through its DFS Cares Program, the island’s high-quality shopping mall is partnering with CCA in support of Children and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
DFS will donate $5 to CCA for each purchase of selected merchandise.
“It’s the first time we’ve ever done a campaign like this,” said Richard Gustafson, managing director of the DFS Group in Mid-Pacific, Japan and Korea.
By shopping at DFS T-Galleria, customers are contributing to an important cause, he added.
Gustafson said the campaign is meaningful for DFS T-Galleria, as they’ve received many blessings from the community of Saipan over the years.
“We always want to be good, and we want to be good for the people of Saipan,” he added.
In his remarks, Gustafson said he lost a family member to cancer “so this to me, is personally very special.”
He added that the DFS Cares Program will continue to expand with other charity partners and other causes. “I am very happy to see this new way of giving starts with CCA.”
