USCBP receives ESGR Above & Beyond Award; Joann Aquino is Spirit of Volunteerism awardee

U.S. Customs and Border Protection-CNMI received the Above & Beyond Award from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Guam-CNMI.

CBP Port Director Jeffrey Hofschneider Jr. received the award on behalf of USCBP during the ESGR 14th Annual Employer Awards Ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Guam on Aug. 18.

Also, during the event, ESGR Ombudsman Joann Aquino received the 2021 ESGR Spirit of Volunteerism Award.

Joining them were ESGR state chairman Ret. Lt. Col. Rey Llaneta, CNMI Office of the Governor Chief of Staff Wil Castro, ESGR Employer Outreach Coordinator Rose Igitol and ESGR volunteer Joshlyn Blas.

Aquino said the Above & Beyond Award is presented by the ESGR State committee to recognize employers at the local level who gave above and beyond the legal requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act by providing their Guard and Reserve Employees additional, non-mandated benefits such as differential pay or full pay to offset loss wages, extended health benefits, and other similar benefits.
