DON’T attack, be humble.
This is the message of Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang on Friday, as he and gubernatorial candidate, Lt. Gov. Arnold I. Palacios, addressed the members of the independent Arnold-Dave 2022 campaign team.
“Let’s not go out and attack people. Let us be humble,” said Apatang, the running mate of Palacios.
On Friday, they endorsed the independent mayoral candidacy of former Board of Parole Chairman Ramon “RB” Blas Camacho at the AD 2022 headquarters in Garapan.
For his part, AD 2022 campaign chairman, former Speaker Oscar M. Babauta, announced the intent of former U.S. Navy sailor Vincent “Kobre” Seman Aldan and former firefighter Shawn Delos Reyes Kaipat to run for the House of Representatives in Precinct 1, and Northern Marianas College Enrollment Services Director Manny Gregory Tenorio Castro’s House candidacy in Precinct 2 House as part of the independent AD 2022 team.
Apatang urged his fellow independent candidates to “take care of our people.”
He added, “My belief is that after the election, there will be no more party. We will take care of everybody — whether they are Republicans, Democrats, whatever. Whoever comes in and asks for help, we will take care of them. That is my belief as mayor and I am sure RB Camacho will do the same. As long as we take care of our people, we’ll never go wrong. Our party here is the whole Commonwealth.”
For his part, Palacios said their team is all about “service above self.”
Team AD 2022 will soon announce the other candidates running on the independent slate.
Palacios and Apatang are running against the Republican candidates, Gov. Ralph DLG Torres and running mate Senate Floor Leader Vinnie Sablan, and the Democratic gubernatorial nominee Rep. Tina Sablan who is running with Rep. Leila Fleming Staffler.
