EQPB Executive officer Portia Franz said the project is expected to start construction before end of the year.
The hazmat will be built to house marine oil spill equipments, marine oil spill laboratory field use, EQPB boat, and to house confiscated restricted pesticide.
Franz added that the building will be also used as a temporary storage of collected hazardous materials from used batteries, depleting substance and unused Freon.
Franz said procurement of materials of the project is now on the process and once it is finished the construction will begin.
EQPB funded the materials with the amount of $22,000, while the Civic Action Team (CAT) will be providing the labor.
During the last meeting of Civic Action Coordinating Committee (CACC), the CAT included hazmat in the list of their approved projects. Also included in the list are the Compact Road Restrooms and Gym Construction of Palau Mission Academy.
CAT said they are expected to begin the project in December.
The hazmat will be located at the lot corner of M-dock near the Koror State landfill.
