Fire personnel Maurice Takeo said that the incident was reported to the police on Friday at 11:05 pm.
The house belongs to William Tabelual, a retired government employee.
The house is located in Madelaii across PNCC building office.
Initial investigation disclosed that someone called Fire station and reported that the house was burning.
Fire officer Takeo responded and when he got to the scene, the blaze was already inside the house.
The officers managed to put off the blaze at 11:50 pm.
Takeo said the structure was totally burned.
He said no one was at home when the incident occurred.
Cause of fire is still under investigation.
