State of the Art Vehicle Tracking and Radio Communication System unveils

The Bureau of Public Safety held a Ribbon cutting ceremony for the new radio communication system on Monday and was attended by officials from Palau and Taiwan.

President Johnson Toribiong tops the list of the guest when the new radio communication system was officially unveiled on Monday.

The project was completed last month which was worth $2 million and was funded by the Taiwan government.

Taiwan Ambassador Maggie Tien graced the ceremony and said that the new Radio system will help personnel of the Bureau of Public Safety in their patrol and surveillance operation which will cover the entire Palau even the remote areas.

She said the police officers are now equipped with ‘thousand ears and eyes.’

President Toribiong for his part thanked Taiwan for its continued support and said his Administration considers Taiwan as a permanent friend of Palau.

Minister of Justice Johnny Gibbons in a separate speech said that Taiwan has been the key source in identifying the needs of the Bureau of Public Safety in improving the services to better serve the people of Palau.

Top Earth Technology Co., Ltd. was responsible for the renovation and installation of the new system of the Vehicle Tracking and the Radio Communication System.

The new system can now monitor police vehicle even if it’s outside Koror area.

The state of the art radio room can monitor the entire Palau from Angaur and Kayangel.
