Fight Against Climate Change

This program will not only help us develop as a nation, but also to show the people and leaders of other nations that we are doing our partwith the world as a whole. 50 trees that are native to Palau have been donated by the Department of Agriculture for this Sundays tree planting at Ice Box Park which will occur in the morning and 100 clams from the Flying Clams Organization have been given for the clam planting that will take place in the afternoon at the Palau Coral Reef Center.

With the dwindling numbers of natural resources all over the Pacific becoming a major concern to leadersthe Micronesia Challenge Program hopes to achieve what no other program has done before, to effectively conserve 30% of near-shore marine resources and 20% land resources across the Micronesian area by the year 2020. By selecting two avid “champions” in each jurisdiction, the Micronesia Challenge Program has been established in the islands of Palau, FSM, CNMI, RMI, and Guam and they too are participating in the Global Work Party program run by the 350 organization. The program has inspired many others similar to itself all over the world, to help form a better future for generations to come.
