In a request to FSM President Emmanuel Mori date July 28, 2011, the state government had proposed if the national government could extend the schedule of the vessel to Yap during its service in Chuuk state’s northwest islands in the early part of August. However, due to other commitments the schedule could not be extended to Yap as requested.
The state government had requested for the FSM vessel to transport students attending schools in Woleai and Ulithi, and classroom teachers who are currently in Yap for their summer program to return to their respective home schools in the outer islands for the new school year.
