G4S Guam held its first job fair on Saipan on Feb. 7 to 8, 2023.
“It is a pilot program for us. We had a job fair on Guam before, but this is something new to us. We are doing something different by recruiting here on Saipan,” Ronnie B. Delfin, integrated security strategic director of G4S Secure Solutions Guam Inc., told Variety in an interview.
G4S is one of the world’s largest security services providers.
Delfin said those hired on Saipan will undergo a two-week training before they are assigned to work on Guam.
They will receive free transportation to Guam and a “support allowance” of $300 every month for six months on top of their salaries.
“The $300 is to support them in their living expenses during their six-month adjustment period,” Delfin said.
He said those who do not wish to continue their employment on Guam after the six-month probationary period will get a free plane ticket to Saipan.
“They can be assigned here if they have a good standing with the company,” Delfin said.
As of 3 p.m. Wednesday, the company had received more than 60 applications.
G4S is hiring security supervisors, security officers or mobile patrol, certified lifeguards, electronic security system technicians and accounting staff.
Delfin said they are ramping up their recruitment process in anticipation of the reopening of the tourism industries on Guam and the CNMI.
“Hotels and businesses will soon be reopening as tourist arrivals peak again, and they will be needing security services,” he added.
