HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — A man accused of attempting to rape a 14-year-old girl also faces charges related to sexually assaulting the minor multiple times since she was 11.
On June 17, 2023, Guam Police Department officers responded to a criminal sexual conduct complaint made by a 14-year-old girl who accused Vanderray Mundo, 40, of sexually assaulting her.
According to the magistrate’s complaint filed in the Superior Court of Guam, the minor was seen at Healing Hearts Crisis Center on June 26, 2023, where she indicated the incident occurred June 11, 2023, at her Mangilao residence.
Mundo told the girl to go to the bedroom where he got in bed with her and allegedly touched her primary genital area. Then Mundo allegedly tried to rape the minor but didn’t because it caused the minor too much pain, according to the complaint.
The victim further explained Mundo had sexually assaulted her multiple times since she was 11 years old. According to the complaint, when the victim was 11, she was in a bedroom when Mundo began playing with her breasts and used his finger to sexually assault her. In another incident when the minor was 12, Mundo allegedly called her and “told her to watch him” while he played with himself, according to the complaint.
Mundo was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct as a first-degree felony, four counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct as first-degree felonies and attempted third-degree criminal sexual conduct as a second-degree felony.
