On Tuesday morning, newly appointed cabinet members and other officials participated in a training on the Government Ethics Act. The training was facilitated by Ashley Kost of the Office of the Public Auditor. The training included discussion on prohibited political activities, gifts and gratuities, complaints and ethics violations, and conflicts of interest. Also discussed were restrictions and internal policies that would supplement and improve government employee ethics and promote the best interests of the Commonwealth. OPA is an independent agency of the Commonwealth government tasked with the responsibility to audit the receipt, possession, and disbursement of public funds and to perform such other duties as required by law.
