Governor nominates Rota’s Mariah Barcinas to CHCC board

GOVERNOR Arnold I. Palacios on Tuesday nominated Mariah Barcinas to represent Rota on the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. board of trustees.

Barcinas currently serves as prevention specialist at the Division of Youth Services.

If confirmed by the Senate, she will serve a six-year term on the CHCC board and fill the seat of former board member Fermin Atalig of Rota. The seat has been vacant for over a year now, Variety learned.

In his appointment letter to Barcinas, the governor said he and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang “are confident in your leadership to carry out the mandates of the board of trustees in governing and managing the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.”

In his letter to Senate President Edith Deleon Guerrero, Palacios asked the Senate to act favorably on Barcinas’ nomination.

The current CHCC trustees are Edward “Tofila” Deleon Guerrero, chair; Polly Masga, vice chair; and members Lauri Ogumoro and Corinne Santos.
