Hardware store burglary suspect charged

HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — A man charged with burglarizing Guam Home Center in Dededo is suspected of being involved in nine other police reports from December 2023.

About 1:52 a.m. Jan. 12, Parckly Ancy, 23, allegedly was inside the lumberyard area of Guam Home Center, which at the time was closed to the public, according to a magistrate’s complaint filed in the Superior Court of Guam.

Officers with the Guam Police Department met with a man who said two individuals were in the lumberyard area, providing police a screenshot of surveillance footage. One of the individuals was wearing a green hoodie, a black hat and dark pants.

The complaint stated officers found two individuals walking eastbound on East Liguan Road outside the perimeter fence of the store. Ancy was found to be wearing the attire seen in the footage and was subsequently apprehended.

After being read his Miranda rights, which Ancy waived, he allegedly told police he “hopped” the fence with a friend intending to take unsecured items.

According to the complaint, Ancy further stated his friend gave him a cordless blower, with a value of about $400, to hold when the police arrived.

Ancy also allegedly admitted to burglary and theft at a Tamuning residence on Jan. 4. The owner of the residence at the time told police he woke up to find his AirPods worth about $200, a gold necklace and a gold ring stolen, the complaint stated.

Ancy allegedly admitted to waiting outside the home while another individual stole the items, and was supposed to warn the other individual if he saw anyone.

“The defendant further claimed that he exchanged the gold jewelry for one gram of methamphetamine and sold the AirPods for $50,” the complaint stated.

Ancy was charged with two counts of burglary as second-degree felonies and two counts of theft of property as misdemeanors.

The Office of the Attorney General concluded the complaint by stating Ancy was booked for the two incidents along with “incidents documented in nine other police reports” from Dec. 7 to Dec. 23, 2023. The other incidents remain under review for possible charging, according to the AG’s office.
