In a three-page complaint, Henry said the paid advertisement contained statements that he received $200,000 on behalf of the Angaur Clans for their land leased to UK-Investments.
The paid advertisement stated that Henry reportedly denied the receipts he signed proving that he obtained the payment.
“In making such false communication, defendant intended it to mean that plaintiff had received money on behalf of the parties who were due certain sums from the defendant under a lease agreement he brokered,” the complaint stated.
The complaint further added that “such false communication would cast plaintiff a bad light with such parties, who had not received such sums because defendant in fact has not made payment, either through plaintiff or otherwise. As a result, defendant intended his communication to lead others to believe that the plaintiff had embezzled such money.”
Henry and Davidson were placed under administrative leave on Monday pending the outcome of the investigation being conducted by the task force created to look into alleged fraud into the dealings of the controversial firm and the two diplomatic officials involvement in the matter.
President Toribiong announced that the two diplomatic officials are refrained from performing their duties until the government gets into the controversy of the spat.
President Toribiong finally decided to take action on the matter by creating a task force to look into the spat betweenDavidson and Henry.
The task force will issue its result on May 1.
Henry in his civil suit against Davidson said that the paid advertisement has caused to injure his reputation as real estate broker and as an ambassador.
“As a result of defendant’s defamatory communication, plaintiff has sustained general damages, special damages in the form of injury to his future business prospects, and punitive damages,” the complaint added.
The complaint stated that the amounts sought for damages will be up to the court.
Henry and Davidson exchanged heated , conflicting accusations and carried on the debates using paid advertisements.
