THE House of Representatives on Friday passed House Concurrent Resolution 23-2 to approve the projected government revenues and resources identified by Gov. Arnold I. Palacios for fiscal year 2024, which starts on Oct. 1, 2023.
All eight House members present voted to adopt H.C.R. 23-2 which was authored by House Ways and Means Chairman Ralph N. Yumul, who also served as the acting House floor leader during the session.
House Floor Leader Edwin Propst and Rep. Marissa Flores were excused.
In his proposed FY 2024 budget, the governor identified a total of $172.5 million in projected revenues and resources.
After deducting earmarks and debt service — including the $34 million for the Settlement Fund — a total of $115. 4 million would be available for government appropriation in FY 2024, the governor said.
In the current fiscal year, the estimated gross budgetary resources total $164.19 million of which $116.19 is available for government operations.
After the adoption of the concurrent resolution, Yumul announced that his committee will conduct budget hearings on Tinian today, Monday, and on Tuesday.
