Incinerator, garbage trucks donated

President Remengesau in his weekly conference said that this group was previously responsible for donating fireworks during Palau’s Independence celebration.

The incinerator and the garbage trucks were donated by Kawauchi and Namekawa which cost at least $1.5 million.

The president said Namekawa started a scholarship fund in PCC.

The scholarship fund will be $12,000 a year for the first year and the amount will be increased to $24,000 annually.

The fund will be able to finance the studies of two students from PCC per year and pay for the airfare, tuition room and board and other expenses.

Kawauchi for his part meanwhile will be sponsoring three students a year who is interested in recycling.

He said that interested individuals must be willing to stay in Tokushima Prefecture for at least six months for a maximum of two years.
