Information sought for copper wire thefts at former Mariana Country Club

THE former Mariana Country Club or MRC in Marpi has fallen victim to copper wire thefts, prompting an urgent appeal for public cooperation.  Crime Stoppers and the Department of Public Safety are seeking any information that may shed light on these incidents.

According to the police, the initial theft was discovered on May 1, 2023, at 9:21 a.m. when DPS 911 dispatch received a call reporting a burglary and theft incident at the MRC warehouse. Law enforcement officers learned from  staff members that the thieves managed to pilfer 13 electrical breakers and an estimated 500mcm of copper wire from within the warehouse.

Another burglary and theft incident at MRC was reported just three days later at 6:20 a.m. on May 4, 2023. A staff member and the on-duty security guard discovered that the culprit(s) had forcibly severed the padlocks securing the warehouse door and stole the copper wires inside.

Authorities are  urging individuals who have any information regarding these crimes or any other criminal activities to promptly contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at (670) 234-7272.
