The four-day familiarization tour was sponsored by Continental Airlines whose goal is to promote Palau.Director of Corporate Communication of Continental Airlines Koji Nagata said that the Palau Visitors Authority is a partner in this tour and that the media trip is a part of a continued year-around Palau promotion with PVA in Japan.Nagata said that PVA and Continental have jointly conducted a media luncheon in Tokyo, Nagoya and Sapporo in early March this year to educate beauty of Palau to key media in those cities.He said during that promotion they have invited the journalists to come to Palau.“Since Palau has a variety of unique attractions such as Jellyfish Lake, Milky Way , it is rather easy for us to obtain great media coverage once we successfully bring them to Palaum,” Nagata said.He added, “ to promote Palau is one of the most important mission for Continental Airlines-Japan office. Continental is the only airlines that operates scheduled flight from Japan to Palau. We provide a very convenient and smooth flight connection from Japan’s eight cities to Palau via Guam.”The journalists are composed of seven media staff from Tokyo, three in Nagoya and two is Sapporo.The journalists visited Dolphins Pacific, Belau National Museum and kayak tours.
