The philanthropic arm of Joeten Enterprises, Joeten Daidai Foundation, has donated $30,000 to the Guam and NMI chapters of the American Red Cross for Typhoon Mawar relief efforts.
WITH the extensive damage caused by Typhoon Mawar to the Marianas on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, the philanthropic arm of Joeten Enterprises, Joeten Daidai Foundation announced its commitment in providing a total of $30,000 toward Typhoon Mawar relief efforts. Because of the greater impact on Guam with hundreds of families still without power, water and other critical needs, the Joeten Daidai Foundation has donated $20,000 to the American Red Cross-Guam Chapter and $10,000 to the American Red Cross-NMI Chapter for Rota.
In sympathizing with the community, Foundation Director Patty T. Palacios said, “Our hearts are with the islands of Guam and Rota. We’re all too familiar with the type of destruction typhoons of this magnitude bring to our region. It’s safe to say that there are many here still traumatized by the hardships and struggles in dealing with the aftermath of something so catastrophic. It truly humbles a person. The only blessing amidst the chaos is seeing our islands work together day after day as a community, as one. It serves as a reminder of our strength and our resilience.”
“The Red Cross is grateful for the generosity of the Joeten Daidai Foundation” said John Hirsh, executive director of the NMI Chapter after accepting the check for the American Red Cross. “Your financial gift empowers us to meet the critical needs of those impacted by Typhoon Mawar. The Joeten family has again demonstrated their deep community focus by helping families recover on Rota as well as assisting with our emergency humanitarian efforts on Guam.”
