In Presidential Proclamation No. 09-03, the president directed that all flags regularly flown within the jurisdiction of Palau and flown at the country’s embassies and consulates in other countries will be hoisted at half mast on Tuesday.
Obakrairur is survived by his father Demei Obakrairur and former Speaker of Ngardmau Legislature, his mother Florence Kambalang.The fallen soldier was born and raised in Palau after he graduated from Ibobang High School in 2000 he went to Hawaii.“The people and the government of Palau mourn and pay tribute to the passing of this brave Palauan soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice in the fight against terrorism which threatens regional and international peace and security,” the proclamation said.The president at the same time extended condolences to the family of Obakrairur.
