Junior Achievement’s Lå’la’ hosts mental health awareness expo

HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — Lå’la’, a Junior Achievement of Guam company, hosted Revive & Thrive, a mental health awareness expo put on to raise awareness and educate residents about the importance of mental health.

Junior Achievement of Guam is a local nonprofit organization that helps students learn the “business life” in work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy. Students work with JA’s network of volunteers to launch and run their own business.

Lå’la’ developed a self-care journal designed for youth to journal their thoughts and expressions.

To enhance their mental health awareness initiative, the company hosted Revive & Thrive, where attendees were exposed to local businesses and mental health outreach booths. Organizations like Modern Day Clay and the WIC program shared information and goods with attendees. Residents were also treated to photo booths, a live message board and live performances by Harmony Chea and Clawwwd.

“We are thrilled to be a part of the Junior Achievement program for the second year in a row, mentoring talented students,” said Jessie Rosario, vice president of sales and marketing for Graphic Center Inc. and a mentor for team Lå’la’.

“Every day my students continue to surprise me, and I am eagerly looking forward to seeing them excel on this journey. I am proud of each and every member of our team,” Rosario said. “This expo, that I know of, has never been done before as an individual team. The students all had a great time and hope we reached even one person today.”
