Charlyne Uong, administrative officer of KSG, however, said there will be no celebration or festivity being prepared but instead the day will observe as a holiday. .
She said all offices of KSG will be closed except the office of Conservation and Law Enforcement.
The Koror Elementary School administration office, also said that they will have no classes but outside school activities will be held at the track and field on Oct. 22. But for the other schools, according to the Ministry of Education, it is the schools prerogative to have their classes or to unite with the State’s holiday.
Last year, Uong said all the schools in Koror had their holiday.
She said the KSG conducted first biggest celebration on 10th year Constitution Day and the second time was on 25th year Constitution Day. But like the previous year and this 2010, the celebration will be observed through holiday
Gov. Yositaka Adachi signed an executive order on Sept. 24, 2009, stated that the Koror State has traditionally celebrates Constitution Day on Oct 21 of each year. He further stated that if Oct 21 falls on a Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, the Constitution Day holiday will be observed and celebrates on Monday. But if it falls on a Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday, the Constitution Day holiday will be observed and celebrated on Friday.
This year the Oct 21, Constitution Day falls on Thursday thus will celebrate on Friday, Oct. 22.
The KSG Constitution Day celebration started on Oct. 21, 1983.
