Ngirmang said the Legislative Bill No. 9-12, LD1 amending the Koror State Public Law No. K6-120-2001 was signed into law by Adachi on Monday.
The KSPLA Board members and the KPC members under the previous law are receiving $35 for meeting attendance . In order to attract, retain qualified and quality Board and Commission members, and due to inflation and rising costs of living in Palau, the measure was introduced to increase the compensation payable “per meeting” to $50, unless such member is on administrative leave from the national or state governments.
The increase is being implemented on the first day of June based on the availability of funds.
Meanwhile the other bills also introduced by Ngirmang and awaiting signature of the Governor are the proposed measures that calls to redefine and establish fee for resident alien permits and to extend the time of Rock Island Southern Lagoon Management Plan.
A bill allowing Palauan to accompany persons engaged in commercial fishing was also passed during the Ninth Koror State Legislature’s session on Thursday.
